Master Sales in Three Transformations
July 3rd, 2007I wanted to tell you all about the new book I have coming out. It is titled SellVolution: Master Sales in Three Transformations. Unlike other books that propose new ways to sell, SellVolution is a revolutionary concept that provides a fresh perspective on sales, success, and life. In the book I address the foundational issues of a salesperson’s life and career: why someone sells, one’s attitudes about sales, and how to develop the discipline necessary for a stellar career. This awareness and discipline provide the basis for further transformation, leading to greater achievement, success, monetary rewards, and satisfaction. I provide a comprehensive model of development for sales people, personally and professionally, at every level. Unlike other books that apply one methodology to all levels and types of sales, SellVolution focuses on specific types of sales—including transactional, complex, and mission-based—and the approaches to produce the best results for each.
To illustrate the developmental range within the sales profession, I use the analogy of the military, which has specific duties and expectations for each rank, from private to general, with increasing levels of responsibility for and ownership of the overall mission or vision. Similarly, within the sales profession, there is a recognizable hierarchy of skills and responsibilities, from the novice (beginner) to the journeyman (more advanced) to the master (high level) sales executive.
